The fifth studio album by BTS, 'Arirang', has dominated significant weekly charts, both domestically and internationally.
On the 30th, Hanteo Chart, an album sales tracking platform, reported that BTS's 'Arirang' secured the top positions on the weekly world chart and album chart for the period of March 23-29. An article preview from Billboard, dated March 30, indicated that 'Arirang' achieved the top position on the Billboard 200 main album chart for the week of April 4. The album entered the chart with 641,000 album units, which is the highest weekly performance for a group album since unit tracking began in December 2014. Of these units, 532,000 were from pure album sales, including both physical and digital purchases. This marks the highest weekly sales for a group album in over ten years.
BTS has also performed strongly on global music charts. The band led the weekly charts on the global audio and music streaming platform Spotify for the period of March 20-26, including categories such as 'Weekly Top Albums', 'Weekly Top Songs', and 'Weekly Top Artists'. The album's title track 'SWIM' reached the top spot on the 'Weekly Top Songs Global'. All 14 tracks from the album featured within the top 30.
The song 'SWIM' held its position at the top of Spotify's 'Daily Top Songs Global' and Apple Music's 'Top 100 Global' for nine days (March 20-28) and seven days (March 23-29), respectively. Every track from the album was present on the most recent chart rankings of both platforms. Even ten days post-release, the entire album continues to receive widespread attention, demonstrating the sustained interest from international music fans.
BTS is scheduled to perform the 'BTS WORLD TOUR 'ARIRANG'' at the Goyang Sports Complex Main Stadium in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, on April 9, 11, and 12. In October, the group is set to hold stadium concerts across South America including countries like Colombia, Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Brazil. All 46 concerts, including those in Goyang, North America, Europe, and Tokyo, Japan, have sold out in advance, indicating strong demand for tickets.
